While current Philadelphia Phillies shortstops Jean Segura and Scott Kingery were both placed on the injured list Saturday with hamstring injuries, a former club shortstop made the headlines on the same day for making a spectacular play in the field.

In the bottom of the eighth, with his team, the Toronto Blue Jays, up 9-0 on the road against the Oakland Athletics, Freddy Galvis made an incredible over-the-shoulder catch with his bare hand for the inning's final out.

Through 22 games this season with the Blue Jays, Galvis is slashing .310/.333/.536 with 11 runs scored, 17 singles, four doubles, five home runs, 12 RBI, three walks and 18 strikeouts spanning 87 plate appearances. In the field, Galvis has committed just one error over 184 2/3 innings and 91 chances. Galvis' 26 hits are the seventh most in the American League.
