Jeffrey Lurie: Eagles Will Not Give Up Home Game To Play In Australia

Just a few days ago, a report came from Melbourne that the NFL was planning to play there during the 2026 season.
Of course, that’s relevant to Philadelphia because they were one of the teams named in the reports as playing in such a game.
While growing the fanbase into new markets is great, it’s a concern for fans for two reasons.
The first is logistics and how such a long flight might impact the team and affect their performance not only there, but potentially the next week where they’d lose a day of practice.
The second is losing a home game: when the Eagles played in Brazil this season, they got the opportunity to play in front of new fans and try to expand the fanbase. They also lost out on a home game with clear home field advantage and many season ticket holders got one less game they could attend.
Jeffrey Lurie said the second part should not be an issue during his media availability Monday.
Jeffrey Lurie said the Eagles will not give up a home game to play in Australia.
If they play in Australia in the next few years, it would be as the visiting team.

Lurie did not confirm or deny the report that the Eagles would play the first game in a new continent once again, but he did confirm that, if it were to happen, it’d be counted as an away game.
That means the Linc will be rocking for an extra game again and fans have one less thing to worry about with this potential game.
