Phillies locks in power bat Kyle Schwarber on a blockbuster contract; deal details revealed

As first reported by Jeff Passan, the Philadelphia Phillies and Kyle Schwarber have agreed to a five-year, $150 million deal.

The Phillies have now accomplished their top priority of the Hot Stove season, bringing back their premier power bat.

In four seasons with Philadelphia, Schwarber delivered big production, hitting 187 home runs, driving in 434 runs, winning a Home Run Derby title, taking home a Silver Slugger Award, and earning two NL All-Star selections.

Beyond the statistics, Schwarber has been the unquestioned clubhouse leader in South Philadelphia, helping guide the Phillies to four straight postseason appearances, including a National League pennant.

With Schwarber officially returning, the Phillies can now shift their attention to the remaining free-agent market and secondary offseason needs.
