Chester, PA: During any season, you get to face other teams in an international friendly and that is what we saw on Saturday, as the Philadelphia Union would do battle with Liga MX’s Atlas F.C. from Subaru Park in Chester, PA. The Union entered this match off a draw to FC Dallas.

Lineup:

How the game went:
During the 1st half, there would be multiple times where the Union would have their scoring chances, but they just could not finish.

The game would be scoreless at halftime.

The Union would get the scoring started in the 46th minute on a goal from Markus Anderson for the 1-0 lead.

Atlas FC would make the Union pay to get things tied up at 1 in the 62nd minute.

A few minutes later, the Union would retake the 2-1 lead on a goal from Eddy Davis III in the 66th minute.

Could the Union hold on for the win?

There have been a couple of games this season where the Union had their chances to put teams away but instead had to come from behind.

In any game, you don’t want to see any of your players get injured or have concerns, but that is what we saw late in the second half. The Union’s Jeremy Rafanello would go down after a hard tackle from an Atlas FC player. A few minutes later, he would walk very carefully to the locker room.

The final whistle would blow and the Union would hold on for the 2-1 win over Atlas FC.
