The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing an old friend. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Birds are signing former linebacker Nicholas Morrow to the practice squad.

The move comes a day after it was confirmed linebacker Nakobe Dean will be lost for the remainder of the NFL playoffs –and likely the beginning of the 2025-26 NFL regular season– with a torn patellar tendon in his knee.

The 29-year-old spent the 2023-24 season with the Birds where he appeared in 15 games including 12 starts. Morrow registered 95 total tackles, 3.0 sacks, five passes defended, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble, and a safety in his only season with the Eagles. He often wore the “green dot” as the defensive signal caller under coaches Sean Desai and Matt Patricia.

Morrow was released following the season before signing with the Buffalo Bills. He dressed for three games this season with Buffalo and recorded three total tackles. He was released by the Bills prior to the NFL Wild Card round.

Included in moves are the official placement of Dean on IR, the elevation of WR Parris Campbell to the 53-man roster, the waiver of receiver Joseph Ngata from the practice squad, and the signing of Elijah Cooks to the practice squad.
