Nola fans seven in second rehab start with Ironpigs

The Philadelphia Phillies are closer to getting one of their top rotation arms back in the big leagues. Out since April 24 with a back strain, right-hander Aaron Nola made his second rehab start for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday night and it couldn't have been much better.

Facing the Rochester Red Wings on the road, Nola hurled 6.1 shutout frames, striking out seven and scattering just two hits and walking one. He threw 83 pitches, 54 for strikes. In two starts for the Ironpigs, he's allowed one run in 10.1 innings, striking out 10. 

Lehigh Valley (24-13) won the game 1-0, extending their franchise best win streak to 10 games. They got their lone run via a solo home run off the bat of top prospect J.P. Crawford, his first of the season.

After his latest rehab start, Nola could take his next turn in the rotation when the Phillies visit the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
