The move brings a familiar postseason name to Philadelphia, but it also raises an obvious question: is this the upgrade the Phillies were searching for, or another short-term, platoon-style solution?

García, 32, arrives with an impressive résumé. The right-handed slugger was a key contributor to the Rangers’ 2023 World Series run and has twice been named an All-Star. At his peak, he offers above-average power, a strong throwing arm, and enough athleticism to handle corner outfield duties.
