Charley Hughlett

The Eagles have officially brought back their long snapper.

Two days ago, the Birds released Charley Hughlett. They officially added him to the practice squad on Wednesday.

The release of DE Titus Leo made the room for him on the practice squad. Since Leo was on the squad this week, he will get his normal pay for the week.

This does make it seem pretty clear that Hughlett is expected to play Sunday and be elevated.

It is unclear who the roster spot is for to this point.

It could be earmarked for the return of an injured player or it could be for safety help from Andre’ Sam or DL help from Patrick Johnson – both of whom are out of practice squad elevations.

The elevations reset for the playoffs, so it may only be a temporary move, but that remains to be seen.

That said, it seems the Eagles have used Hughlett in this manner a few times this season as they expect him to return to the team after his release, so there seems to be an understanding there and the team may trust him to stick with the practice squad through the playoffs so that they don’t risk losing depth elsewhere.
