Throughout the summer, the NHL Network has been compiling lists of the top 20 players in each position. In the most recent installment, unveiled on Sunday, the league’s top 20 wingers were spotlighted with Flyers wingers Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek both making the list.

Whatever the top line and second line look like on Opening Night, the Flyers not only have a solid top six, they have flexibility in how they utilize it.

Robert Hagg is just one of the many defensemen who started in the Flyers system as a draft pick that has worked his way to the NHL and the Flyers present. As the team prepares for the 2018-19 season, the Flyers future on the blue line has started to become the present.

There are eight Flyers prospects participating in the 2018 World Junior Summer Showcase and many of them have been impressive over the first few days.

Wayne Simmonds is still with the Flyers and figures to be through the 2018-19 season. His future beyond next season, however, remains cloudy with lingering questions.

The possible duo in James van Riemsdyk and Nolan Patrick carries a lot of intrigue for the Flyers.

With collegiate players entering the league at a fast rate, the Philadelphia Flyers are one of the top teams that are actively scouting and drafting talent from the NCAA.

The Flyers already have so many young star prospects coming through their system, a system that is already near the top of the league, with the likes of Morgan Frost and Carter Hart. Isaac Ratcliffe could be another player that can help the Flyers in the future, a depth guy who could potentially be on the Flyers sooner rather than later.

The smart decision in the 2018-19 season is to keep Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier together with Giroux still manning the wing, where he had so much success in the 2017-18 season.
