Philadelphia: As the city of Philadelphia prepares for the big snowstorm that is coming in, College Basketball keeps rolling on & we had a big matchup in the Atlantic 10 as the Dayton Flyers would take on the Saint Joseph’s Hawks from Hagan Arena. The Hawks come into the game off a loss to VCU on Monday, while Dayton would make their way to Hawk Hill, losing their first conference game to LaSalle on Wedesday

Lineup:

Phillies TV Announcer Tom McCarthy would be on the call of this game for CBS Sports Network.

How the game went:

In the first half, Dayton would comeout and attempted to let out some anger after how they looked in their loss to LaSalle & made things challenging for Saint Joseph’s, there would be two seperate times that Dayton would have a 8 point lead & the Hawks would slowley cut into the lead & would take their first lead of game at 27-25 on 3 pointer from Derek Simpson, had a couple of of big poster alert dunks especially this one from Keonte Jones

As the first half was coming to a end, the Flyers would go on a run, but Saint Joseph’s would not let it happen as Dasear Haskins would bang in a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Hawks a 38-36 lead into halftime. Going into the 2nd half, what could Saint Joseph’s do to keep building off the crowd and some of the mistakes that Dayton was doing. The Hawks would take flight as they got the lead as high as 16 at 69-53 with 6:28 left.

The play of the game for the Saint Joseph’s Hawks would be the OH MY GOD Poster Dunk from Jaiden Glover-Toscano that would blow the roof off of Hagan Arena

Later in the 2nd half, the Hawks would make the big shots down the stretch, which included some big 3 pointers & foul shots. At the same time, Dayton just did not have a response to what the Hawks were doing. As the Final horn sounded, a crowd of 3047 would be happy with what they saw as the Saint Joseph’s Hawks would pick up a big conference win as they took down Dayton 81-74. This was a statement game to see how the Hawks have gone and take down the odds-on favorite to win the Atlantic 10. This was a rough road trip for Dayton as they would go 0-2 in Philadelphia, which included losing to LaSalle earlier in the week.
