Andrew Mukuba, Texas

The Eagles were ecstatic with how the board fell last night. They certainly hoped to get that kind of luck again.

In round two, however, the team did no maneuvering and waited it out until pick 64, making the final pick of the round.

That pick is now safety Andrew Mukuba.

Mukuba was certainly not the top safety remaining on most draft boards (KJ Winston was probably in that slot), but he was a ball hawk after transferring to Texas.

In his lone season in the SEC, he recorded 11 defensed passes, five interceptions, and a forced fumble. He also had 69 tackles (four for loss).

The biggest knock on him is his size, but he was a leader with good ball skills and an ability to read the quarterback.

He’s figures as more of a true safety, but the Eagles only have Reed Blankenship seemingly locked in as starter.

Mukuba will have the opportunity to come in and challenge Sidney Brown, Tristian McCollum, and Lewis Cine for that starting spot that’s up for grabs.
