The Nittany Lions have missed out on a few prospects they were hoping to land, but that’s bound to happen in every recruiting cycle.

The staff has continued to recruit the top talent on the board and, on Wednesday, that came through with a pick up of four-star athlete Pierce Petersohn.

Petersohn becomes the first TE commit for the PSU 2026 class and the 21st overall.

A four-star prospect according to On3 and the 247Sports Composite rankings, Petersohn got his first composite rankings in March and has only risen since then.

Particularly notable for a tight end, he held offers from Iowa and Iowa State, but ultimately narrowed his focus down to Minnesota (his hometown team) and Penn State.

Ultimately, the Dodge Center, MN native from Triton High School chose to join the Aces at Penn State.

His commitment pushes the 2026 class rankings up to 10th according to 247 and 8th according to On3.

The Nittany Lions appear to be trending well with Edge recruit Jackson S Ford (PA’s last uncommitted top-11 recruit) who will be announcing his decision Friday. Penn State is also a finalist for New Jersey’s Damari Simeon (commitment Friday), Georgia CB Dorian Barney (July 5), and DC’s Tyson Harley (July 5).
