The Nittany Lions got their fireworks started a bit late – landing their commitments on July 5 instead of the fourth.

Edge Tyson Harley and OL Marlen Bright each made their decision on Saturday, choosing the Nittany Lions.

Harley is a four star by both the 247 composite rankings and the On3 staff.

Out of 23 D1 offers, the DC-native chose Penn State over the hometown team (Maryland). Rutgers and Michigan were among the other teams seeking his commitment.

Marlen Bright, an OL from New Jersey, continues the trend for size on the offensive line with his 6-6, 270 lbs frame.

Bright joins Roseby Lubintus and Julian Peterson as the third player from NJ to join the class.

He chose the Nittany Lions over his hometown team (Rutgers) and had a top seven that included North Carolina, Illinois, Texas and Texas A&M.

Penn State’s class is rated top 15 nationally and fifth in the B1G behind USC, Ohio State, Michigan, and Oregon.

Of course, plenty can still change in the coming months with prospects flipping or making a late commitment in addition to the committed prospects seeing their rankings shift, but the Penn State staff is getting to the point where they will likely begin to focus a bit more on the 2027 class and getting that set
