Union Agressive in Shutout win over Atlanta United, Ends winless streak

Chester, PA: The Philadelphia Union are looking to get back into the win column as they are on a 3-match winless streak & Saturday night they took on Atlanta United from Subaru Park, the Union come into the game after a loss to NYCFC while Atlanta United made their way to Philly off a bad loss the week before.

Lineup:

Andre Blake would return to the lineup after missing the last game with injury.

 

How the game went:

Multiple times in the first half, the Philadelphia Union would have some golden scoring chances but could not finish them, The Union would break through with scoring the games first goal from Quinn Sullivan in the 27th minute for the 1-0 lead

A few minutes later, the Union would keep the attack going, and Uhre would hit the crossbar. It was good to see how aggressive the Union were with their chances, and they need better ways to finish them. Union would take a 1-0 lead into the half & it should have been 2 or even 3-0 for the Union.

In the second half, the Union would make it 2-0 on 1st MLS goal from Danley Jean Jacques

Later on in the second half, Jovan Lukic would get nailed for his 2nd Yellow, which was a very weak yellow card & it resulted in a Red Card and done for the match & that also means he will miss the next game

The Crowd at Subaru Park would let the officials know they are doing a terrible job

Throughout the 2nd half, Union goalie Andre Blake would stand on his head and make those big saves that would keep Atlanta off the scoreboard.

The Union would ice the game with a huge goal from Tai Baribo

 

As the final whistle sounded, the Union would win for the 1st time in 3 games with a big shutout win.  This was a type of performance that we were waiting to see from the team, and good to end the winless streak.
