Chester, PA: There is a certain feel when one of the marquee players in your sport come to your city and that is what we saw on Saturday night from Subaru Park as the Philadelphia Union would do battle with Inter Miami, lead by Lionel Messi.

The Union enter this game off a win in the US Open Cup while Inter Miami had the week off from their win over Orlando City.

How the game went:

Early on, both teams would figure each other out and how the pace of the game was going to go. The fans were on the edge of their seats with excitement,

The Union would get the scoring started in the 7th minute from a Quinn Sullivan corner kick; the other day, Quinn got called up to USMNT training camp for the Gold Cup.

As the first half was winding down, the Union would add a second goal on a strike from Tai Baribo for the 2-0 lead.

That was a very impressive showing in the first half that the Union took into halftime.

Going into the second half, could the Union keep their foot on the gas?

Early on, the answer was NO as Inter Miami would score in the 60th minute by Tadeo Allende to make things very interesting.

The Union would respond back with the second goal of the game from Tai Bario for a 3-1 lead:

Then, everything changed in the way the Union were doing things as Inter Miami was putting on more pressure and it showed when Lionel Messi scored on a free kick in the 87th minute.

After Messi scored, everyone inside Subaru Park was thinking, “here we go again”. Could the Union hold off a very late charge to get the win?

They would not be able to as Inter Miami tied the game on a goal from Telasco Segovia & this game would end in a 3-3 DRAW.

For the 2nd time this season at home, the Union would let a game slip away and this is exactly what happened in their draw to Columbus a couple weeks ago.

There were a good amount of good and good amount of things that need work, especially being able to close the games out against good teams like Columbs & Inter Miami – and doing it in front of the home fans.
