The Eagles have punched their ticket to host the sixth NFC Championship game in Philadelphia since 2002.

It’s another big win for a team that struggled a bit in their game in the snow, but the big worry after the game was standout rookie Quinyon Mitchell.

The corner left very early in the game with a shoulder injury and did not return.

It left the Eagles to fend with their backup corners and the big question afterward would be if the defense was dealt a major blow for the future like they were last week with Nakobe Dean.

According to Jordan Shultz (and Mitchell himself after the game), the injury does not seem to be too serious.

The hope is that Mitchell will be able to play in the NFC Championship game next week, but the team will of course test him throughout the week to make sure he’s good to go.

Mitchell was the Eagles first-round pick this year and setup the Eagles for success, starting 16 games (every game except the meaningless Week 17 match-up) and the wild card game before starting this weekend.

He has played most of the snaps and has been arguably the best corner the Eagles have had in decades, despite some impressive seasons by corners mixed in.

Isaiah Rodgers (who left the game late with a separate injury) and Kelee Ringo are the primary backups at the corner position.

Mitchell should have a shot at the DROTY award, but in a stats-driven league, a guy who doesn’t get many throws into his coverage doesn’t get the notice he should.
