A short trip from San Jose to Los Angeles marks the next stop on this post-holiday road trip, as the Flyers try to extend the points streak to eight games against the Kings.

The Flyers next game comes against another team outside of playoff position. The Los Angeles Kings come to town on Saturday night and it is a game the Flyers certainly feel the need to come away with a better result.

The Los Angeles Kings entered the game averaging 2.54 goals per game, but struck for four in the opening period. That helped them cruise to a win over the Flyers on New Year’s Eve by a score of 5-3.

The final opponent for the Flyers in the calendar year is the Los Angeles Kings, who enter with the lowest point total in the Western Conference and losses in four of their last five games.

The Flyers played a game against the Kings that was sloppy and frustrating. Yet, there they were, playing in overtime. The overtime featured its share of near-misses as well. The winning streak is over, and now the Flyers need to regroup or their comeback effort this season will fizzle out.
