Game 3 of the Flyers series against the New York Islanders has been postponed in the wake of social injustice following the shooting of Jacob Blake. The NHL joined other major leagues in postponing games over the last 48 hours.
Carter Hart suffered a lower right abdominal injury in practice on Tuesday and will be out for two-to-three weeks. The Flyers have recalled goalie Alex Lyon on an emergency basis, sent down forward Joel Farabee and placed forward Chris Stewart on waivers.

The 4-1 result to Dallas was something all too familiar from seasons’ past. The Flyers did a lot right in the game — control the puck, get a lot of shots, defended well and limited shots and chances — but came out on the losing end, and the score wasn’t really all that close.
The Dallas Stars entered Saturday’s game in Philadelphia having lost five straight games. They managed just 16 shots on goal in the back-end of a back-to-back after losing in Pittsburgh on Friday. The Flyers still came out on the losing end, 4-1, to drop their fourth straight game.

The third-line winger competition is one of the focal points in Flyers training camp with prospects, veteran newcomers and returning veterans all in the mix.
The Flyers have signed free-agent winger Chris Stewart to a pro try-out. He will attend Flyers training camp this year with a chance to make the roster.
