The collapse continued for the Flyers on Saturday, as they suffered a 6-2 defeat to the Columbus Blue Jackets for their seventh straight loss.

The Flyers lost for the fourth straight game and sixth time in the last seven games, as the Blue Jackets rallied for a 3-2 shootout win.

On Thursday night in the season opener, the team that scored just eight goals in six preseason games got five goals, all from players who fall into that youthful category, as the Flyers claimed a 5-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers got a pair of goals from James van Riemsdyk and Travis Konecny on the way to a 6-3 win over the Devils on Friday night.

The Flyers struggled to get quality chances against the Devils, falling 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.

The Flyers next meeting on home ice comes against the New Jersey Devils, a team that has fallen in the standings after a hot start. The Devils sit in last place in the Metropolitan Division, but are just four points behind the Flyers.

A late goal by Jake Voracek on a two-on-one put the Flyers ahead in the third for good in a 5-2 win for the Flyers over the New Jersey Devils. 

The Flyers return to home ice to face the New Jersey Devils, a team off to a hot start with wins in four of their first five games. Game time is at 1 p.m.
