One of the more surprising and roller coaster storylines has been the one for center fielder Matt Vierling. With the many other surprises from the team both positive and negative, he is more known for his commercial with CarShield rather than the value he brings as a ball player. 

The Phillies added Scott Kingery and Matt Vierling as Johan Camargo hits the injured list and Zack Wheeler the paternity list.

The Phillies placed reserves Matt Joyce and Andrew Knapp on the injured list, re-summoning catcher Rafael Marchan, and giving Matt Vierling his first look at the major leagues.
