Jakorian Bennett Activated, Alexander Placed On Restricted/Retired List

The news came out yesterday that Jaire Alexander would be stepping away from football, at least for a little bit.
The good news for the Eagles in that is that their roster moves are made clearer and they don’t have to risk losing a player trying to get them through to the practice squad.
On Wednesday, the Eagles placed Alexander on the reserve/retired list in order to allow the space for Jakorian Bennett to return to the roster from IR.

Bennett was acquired via trade in August and some have been calling for him to get a chance to start at outside corner. His late arrival and subsequent injury/IR placement fairly early in the season left him as the only contender for that role who didn’t get a chance to start a game as the top player at the position.
The depth he provides should be better than the Eagles otherwise have, but it’s also worth mentioning that Adoree’ Jackson has been a good corner after week one for the Eagles, despite all the ire he continually draws from the fanbase. The biggest issue he’s had since week two is needing to leave games at times for being banged up.
It remains to be seen how big a role Bennett will be expected to play going forward, but it may not be the best idea to throw him out there for his first shot against the Lions on primetime the week he returns from a month and a half long absence due to injury.
