In a move sure to intrigue any Eagles fans, the Birds waived a QB on Tuesday.

Ian Book, brought in a few weeks ago, was waived.

While it probably isn’t great news for Book, it would seem to be a good sign for the Eagles and their fans.

In order for a QB to serve as the emergency option during a game, they need to be on the active roster. That means that either the Eagles are confident in Kenny Pickett (with broken ribs) and then Tanner McKee being the only truly healthy QB for their first playoff game OR they expect Jalen Hurts to be available.

Of course, the latter is what the team and fans had been hoping for.

The Eagles now have an open spot on the 53-man roster, so it will be interesting what they do with that.

The team, now in playoffs, would seem likely to promote someone from the practice squad or re-sign someone that has been with the team already this season (to the roster or the opened practice squad spot from the promotion) so that they have another player in-house to lean on if needed.
