NFL Free Agency: Josh Uche Joining Eagles
The Eagles are bringing in a bit more depth.
On Thursday, the Eagles agreed to a deal with Josh Uche.

Uche is more of an edge player so can help to fill in the depth behind Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt. The only other player currently under contract there that played major snaps was Bryce Huff.
Uche is a second-round pick in 2020 and has been a solid rotational option for the Patriots since then. He was traded midseason to the Chiefs last year and that was a poor fit as he had the least productive stretch of his career since his rookie year.
Uche is just two seasons removed from putting up 11.5 sacks, so there’s potential there and it’d track that, if he can still play at that level, he’ll be better able to reach those numbers playing alongside Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Nolan Smith, etc.
He has a 16.7% pressure rate over the past few years and it will be up to Vic Fangio to get that to translate statistically and in games for the Birds.
The deal figures to be a small one, so it’s another shot at a potential bargain for the Eagles at a spot where they are looking for depth next season while Uche gets a good shot to put up numbers and cash in during next year’s free agency.
