Eagles Offseason: Birds Adding UDFA Marcus Tate

The Eagles are adding another UDFA.
On Monday, the team announced the signing of OL Marcus Tate.

The move is certainly a win for Tate, who had been at the Eagles rookie mini-camp and was able to parlay that into a deal with the team (seemingly in the wake of Bryce Huff’s roster spot being cleared).
Tate played both guard and tackle in college so has the versatility that could help him stick with the team.
That said, he’ll have a tough road to get there with the backup spots seemingly up for grabs between veterans Kenyon Green, Kendall Lamm, and Matt Pryor as well as draft picks Myles Hinton, Cameron Williams, and Drew Kendall. That’s to say nothing of incumbent backups Trevor Keegan, Brett Toth, and Darian Kinnard and impressive UDFA Hollin Pierce.
Tate has already taken that first step, though, and there’s no reason he couldn’t work his way into a practice squad spot even if he doesn’t make the initial 53-man roster.
