Eagles Offseason: Birds Decline Dotson’s Fifth-Year Option
The Eagles have made their first decision on the fifth-year options, with the team declining it for Jahan Dotson.

That move isn’t too much of a surprise. The fifth-year option for Dotson was projected at just under $17 million and that’s not a number Dotson will be getting unless he has a sudden breakout year in 2025.
That said, he was effective when called upon and got the team going early on in Super Bowl LIX with a deep catch that was all but a touchdown.
It makes 2025 a contract year for Dotson, who would seem like a great fit as the WR3 for this team particularly now that he and Jalen Hurts have some experience together and a full offseason upcoming (meaning he’s far more likely to get involved in the offense/receive more looks and targets this year).
That doesn’t necessarily mean Dotson will wind up playing a contract year. If Dotson’s camp is open to it, the Eagles may well look to extend Dotson on a reasonable deal and solidify some depth with a known quantity.
The Eagles have yet to make decisions on Jordan Davis (projected $13M) or Kenyon Green (projected $16.5M), though declining Green’s would seem like more of a formality at this point.
