Orr Homers, Pitching Solid in 2-1 Win Over Pirates

All was quiet this afternoon in Clearwater due to some stellar pitching from the Phils. Aaron Cook got the start against the Pirates today and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, walking one, and striking out one.

Rodrigo Lopez pitched a scoreless fourth and fifth inning giving up three hits and striking out one. Jonathan Papelbon struck out two in the sixth inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Phils put the first run on the board with a sacrifice fly from Ryan Howard which brought home Michael Young from third.

Phillippe Aumont, back from the World Baseball Classic, tossed an inning of relief in the seventh. After allowing a hit and hitting Brandon Inge, Aumont threw a wild pitch, allowing Neil Walker to score. 1-1 ballgame.

Jake Diekman allowed two hits and struck out one in the eighth inning. The Phillies took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth after Pete Orr smashed a solo homer past right field.

Cesar Jimenez closed it out for the Phils, leaving two on base and ending this game with a called strikeout.

And that's your ballgame, Phils win this one, 2-1.

The Phils will visit the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow afternoon, it is a 1:05 start.
