Future Flyers Report: Good News Everyone!

Injury Updates:

Shayne Gostisbehere's surgery went well and his recovery time is much quicker than expected. Rather than upwards of 6 months, Gostisbehere could be back on the ice in just 3 months, allowing him to return to the Phantoms for the stretch run.

Samuel Morin who broke his jaw earlier this year will return to his junior team to play in their game on the 22nd of November, this upcoming saturday.

Good news for the Flyers top two defensive prospects, lets hope this can rub off on the big club!

AHL:

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms returned to the PPL Center in a winning fashion on Saturday night to the tune of a 3 to 2 victory over the Toronto Marlies. This game was interesting all the way through, ending with an insane 6-on-3 power play for the Marlies, but Lehigh Valley closed the door on all comers.

Scott Laughton continued his great season with a goal and an assist. Brandon Manning put up yet another power play goal, his 2nd in as many nights to give the Phantoms the lead late in the 3rd that they would hold on to.

Rob Zepp stopped 28 of the 30 shots he faced in another fantastic effort. Give some props to the Flyers international scout with Michael RafflPierre-Eduoard Bellemare and Rob Zepp.

The Phantoms will return to action on Wednesday night as they continue their homestand against the Hershey Bears. They have another busy weekend ahead with home games on Friday and Saturday as well, against Worcester and St. John's respectively.

ECHL:

The Reading Royals beat the Kalamazoo Wings yet again on Saturday night, this time by a score of 3 to 1. This completed the 2-game sweep of the Wings, but it wasn't the only sweep of the weekend.

The Royals played again on Sunday to complete the 3-game weekend sweep, with wins on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This time against the Toledo Walleye 4 to 3 in a shootout.

The Royals hope to do it again this weekend as they play Elmira on Friday before coming home to face off against Indianapolis in a two game set.
