Sixers sign Shawn Long to 10-day contract

The Philadelphia 76ers went from having too many centers to not quite enough this season. Nerlens Noel was traded, Joel Embiid is out for the year and Jahlil Okafor is dealing with knee soreness again. With the team now struggling for front-court depth, they've decided to sign Delaware 87ers center Shawn Long to a 10-day contract, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The signing comes just a few days after the Sixers inked forward Justin Harper to a 10-day deal.

Long, 24, has been solid all year for the Sevens and has been one of the most productive players this season in the D-League overall. In 39 games, he's averaging 20.2 points and 11.1 rebounds while shooting 53.5 percent from the floor.

The Sixers signed Long as an undrafted free agent last summer out of Louisiana-Lafayette, but he was cut prior to the season and landed with their D-League team. Philadelphia already has 15 players on their roster, but have been granted an injury exception to add Long to their team. Here are some of his highlights from the 87ers:
