The Philadelphia 76ers have made a decision regarding PF Shawn Long. Long was brought up from the Sixers' D-League affiliate Delaware 87ers on March 6 and signed to a 10-day contract. The same night, Long made his debut for the Sixers against the Milwaukee Bucks. He had 13 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

The loss of Joel Embiid to injury and Ersan Ilyasova via trade opened up the opportunities for some lesser-known big men to enter themselves into the fold. Long has found himself some good minutes off the bench for the Sixers in this recent stretch.

Since being signed to that 10-day contract, it's apparent the team has kept the faith in the big man as they are going to extend him to a multi-year contract. The contract is guaranteed for the rest of the season, and will continue for the following two years.

Long has appeared in four games for the Sixers this season, averaging close to five points and three rebounds.

The salary involved in the contract was not reported as of now.
