Sixers take on Spurs in second Las Vegas game

The Philadelphia 76ers face the San Antonio Spurs in their second Las Vegas Summer League game. If you're going to take down a powerhouse is the Golden State Warriors, you might as well take down another.

What's that? Summer League doesn't really count? Oh.

The Sixers are coming off of a thrilling win over the Warriors. Larry Drew II hit a game winner with 7.3 seconds left and the Sixers won 95-93. From a scoring standpoint, Furkan Korkmaz led the Sixers with 15 points. He also had 4 rebounds. He had 2 of both steals and assists. He shot 50 percent from 3-point range. Just a great Furkan effort, there (there will be more puns from this writer).

But, the big "I've heard this before" story was Markelle Fultz going down with an ankle injury. For some odd reason, the Sixers top picks get hurt before first regular season action. His injury means he will miss the rest of Summer League. Fultz made it to the 3rd quarter. Up until then, he wasn't shooting very well and just overall wasn't that great of a game. But, that's okay. Seriously. It's Summer League.

Well, since he won the game for the Sixers, you can examine the rest of Drew's stat line. He actually scored 8 points on 66.7 percent shooting. Not bad. He also managed 6 assists.

A Perfect Pair:

The Sixers and Spurs are quite a pair right now. Why? Because the Spurs lost to the Miami Heat on Saturday night. They lost 75-74 thanks to a buzzer beater. Meanwhile, as you know, the Sixers won on a buzzer beater. Beautiful. So, here is hoping both teams repeat last night's game, excluding injuries.

It's Game Time:

The game starts at 10:30 PM ET and it's on NBA TV.
