Marlins Officially Eliminated the Phillies From Playoffs on a Walk-off Hit

This will be a short and sweet recap.

Cliff Lee gave up a homerun to Giancarlo Stanton as the Marlins take 1-0 lead. It was the only run allowed by Lee. He allowed just three hits, no walks and a run over seven innings. Meanwhile, the Phillies scored a run in the eighth as Jimmy Rollins singled in John Mayberry Jr to tie the game, 1-1.

Carlos Lee’s single scored Bryan Peterson with the
winning run. Peterson had lead off with a double off against the losing
pitcher Josh Lindblom. The Phillies walked Giancarlo Stanton
intentionally to get to Lee.

The Philadelphia Phillies are offically eliminated from the playoffs for the first time since 2006. Go buy yourself a beer and watch the 2008 Champion team. It was a good six-year run!
