The Phillies season just ended no more than a half-hour ago and Rube and the organization have already begun to make moves. Todd Zolecki reported a few moments ago that first base coach Sam Perlozzo will not be returning to the team next season.

Perlozzo joined the staff in 2009, serving as the Phils' third base coach until moving over to first last year.

With Perlozzo's spot open, does this mean that there is a chance that Ryne Sandberg has an opportunity? The Hall Of Fame IronPigs manager has held the description since 2010. Sandberg has also been rumored to be current manager, Charlie Manuel's replacement when he retires.

It's been confirmed that Manuel will return next year, so Sandberg will have to wait his spot. But, that doesn't mean he has to wait to coach in the big leagues.
