Cliff Lee Seeks To Repeat Performance Against Brew Crew In Game Two

Leebrews
The Phillies are above .500 for the first time since last season when they finished 81-80. With their win last night behind Tyler Cloyd, the Phillies also extended their winning streak to five games. Cloyd was solid, throwing 6 2/3 innings of scoreless ball. Although he walked five batters, he was able to keep them from scoring, allowing just four hits. The bats also shined bright last night as Michael Young went 3-for-5 with a run scored as well as a Delmon Young home run. Tonight the Phillies will look to keep it rolling as they send out Cliff Lee (7-2, 2.45 ERA) against the Brewers and Alfredo Figaro (0-0, 3.67 ERA) in game two this evening.

Cliff Lee continued his solid streak last time around. On Sunday against the Brewers, Lee held the opposition to just three earned on seven hits through 7 2/3 innings. The lefty struck out a season-high 11 hitters while walking none. Lee is on a roll and it's looking good.  In his last six starts, he's 5-0 with a 1.54 ERA (6 ER in 38 2/3 IP). The streak, reminds us of the 2011 season when Lee went 5-0 with a 0.21 ERA in June and 5-0 with a 0.45 ERA in August. Lee will look to make this streak continue tonight as he takes on the Brewers for the second straight start. In his career, Lee is 1-1 with a 4.79 ERA in over 40 innings.

Alfredo Figaro will be making just his second start for the Brewers tonight as he takes on the visiting Phillies. Figaro's last start came as a spot start opportunity against Minnesota on May 28th. In that outing Figaro allowed four earned runs on four hits through five innings. Figaro will be making tonight's start in place of recently demoted Mike Fiers. Figaro made an appearance against Philly last Sunday, holding the Phils to just two hits through 3 1/3 innings of relief work. That outing was Figaro's only experience with the Phils.
