Eagles announce final 53-man roster

The deadline to make cuts for the final 53-man roster isn't until 4 p.m. But the Eagles made their final decisions early.

With a few hours remaining before the deadline, the Eagles officially announced the 53 players that would make up the team.

Several cuts were announced on Friday, with players like GJ Kinne and Henry Josey being among the first group of cuts.

The following players were cut on Saturday: Emmanuel Acho, Kenjon Barner, Roc Carmichael, Kevin Graf, Alex Henery, Damaris Johnson, Keelan Johnson, Josh Kaddu, Wade Keliikipi, Curtis Marsh, Will Murphy, Ed Reynolds, Damion Square and Matthew Tucker.

Arrelious Benn and Travis Long were also officially moved to the IR and Lane Johnson officially placed under suspension.

In some of the closer roster battles, Chris Polk edged out both Tucker and Barner. The Eagles have just three running backs on the roster.

Taylor Hart earned a spot on the defensive line, beating out Square. Beau Allen's strong preseason also contributed to Square's waiving.

Casey Matthews makes the roster in place of the injured Long, who had clearly locked up a spot before news of a torn ACL signaled the end of his season.

GM Howie Roseman will speak to the media regarding the roster following the 4 p.m. deadline.
