Player and Play of the Week: November 2-8

Three wins gave the Flyers plenty of standout performers. But it has been impossible to ignore the tear Jake Voracek has been on in the last two weeks.

Voracek extended his points streak to eight games with six points in three games this week. Voracek scored two goals in Tuesday's win over the Oilers, added a third goal on Thursday against the Panthers and recorded three assists on Saturday.

Voracek splits our Player of the Week honors with Steve Mason, who recorded his first win on Tuesday and added two more later in the week. In his last three games, Mason is 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA and .955 save percentage.

Our Play of the Week is also split over three plays. The first is this excellent save Mason on Nail Yakupov in Tuesday night's win. Mason had lost his stick earlier in the play but manages to recover and stone Yakupov.

Our second play is Voracek's goal on Thursday against the Panthers. On a 2-on-1, Claude Giroux threads a pass to Voracek for an easy goal.

And finally, our third play is Giroux's second goal of Saturday's game. Giroux feeds Vincent Lecavalier with a pass in the slot. After Lecavalier gains control, he returns the pass to Giroux at the side of the net for the goal.
