Future Flyers Report: Phantoms fighting for playoff spot

This week's Future Flyers Report features a two-assist game for a 2014 pick, as well as slow weeks for both affiliates in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County. Find out how your future Flyers fared this week, and what's coming up this weekend.

Juniors:

Travis Sanheim and Radel Fazleev were active in two games, as the Calgary Hitmen won two games against Seattle and Portland. Both men were held point-less in both games, though Sanheim recorded a plus-one rating against the Thunderbirds.

Samuel Morin went point-less with an even rating and two hits in Rimouski Océanic's 3-0 win over Quebec on Tuesday. He was also quite active in Friday's 8-0 whitewashing of Acadie-Bathurst — check back for his full performance in Monday's Future Flyers Report.

In one game this week, Nicolas Aubé-Kubel recorded two assists as his Val-d'or Foreurs beat Rouyn-Noranda, 7-3.

Tyrell Goulbourne recorded his 21st assist of the season on Wednesday, as his Kelowna Rockets beat Victoria 4-2.

American League:

The Phantoms play twice this weekend, after a week off. They face Binghamton at PPL Center on Saturday (good seats still available), and take the road Sunday against Hershey.

At 24-22-6-1 with 55 points, the Phantoms still currently sit at third place in the East Division, 11 points behind second-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. They also sit seven points behind Providence for the Eastern Conference's eighth playoff seed.

ECHL:

Like their Allentown affiliates, the Reading Royals were idle this week, and will return for a slate of two games — facing off against Greenville tonight and Elmira on Sunday, as part of a five-game homestand at Santander Arena.

With a 35-14-2-1 record and 73 points, the Royals still sit one point ahead of Florida for first place in the East Division, and three points behind Fort Wayne for tops in the Eastern Conference.
