The Philadelphia Flyers lines look pretty evenly mediocre in the possession stats last night, although there's a number of qualifiers on that. They played decent to start against the Buffalo Sabres, but lost momentum at the end of the first period. They then seized the game with a four-goal burst in the second period, and rode that to a 5-1 victory.

It's pretty strange to see such terrible numbers for the Claude Giroux line, but the Flyers will certainly take four goals from depth lines. Perhaps the real headline of the night was R.J. Umberger opening the scoring to break his 50-game goal drought. It was made possible after a real nice setup from Sam Gagner.

The new Michael Raffl line added three goals. Each member of the line scored one, making it a great night for the Flyers second line without Sean Couturier.

It was certainly an eventful night for Radko Gudas. Two fights, 17 penalty minutes, four hits, plus-3, and the best possession numbers on the team. He and current partner Brandon Manning combined for nine hits, whereas the other two pairs only totalled four hits.

The other news of the night was Shayne Gostisbehere extending his point streak to 10 games. Ghost also played pretty sizable minutes as the team relies on him more and more.
