With a month removed from the conclusion of the 2016-2017 season, I had that amount of time to sit down and seriously think of what I thought the five best moments of this Philadelphia 76ers season were. Of course, there are too many to count, but narrowing them down to only five is a tall order to have.

This season was one for the ages, and while the Sixers may have suffered their fifth straight losing season, the team improved upon their 2015-16 record by 18 wins. That is quite the accomplishment considering where this team was just a couple years ago.

This particular season was a historic one, with Joel Embiid finally making his long-awaited debut and the role players becoming big starting players as well. No one saw the emergence of T.J. McConnell coming and quite frankly, I don't think T.J. himself saw it coming either.

Below are five moments this season that stuck out to me as being the most memorable. There is no particular order, but feel free to add and subtract in the comments below what you think the Sixers' best moments of this past season were.

The LeBron Block II (The Process edition)

Now, this may in fact be goaltending, but I don't think anyone was complaining after this happened. This was one of the first games that Joel Embiid finally put himself on the map of being a feared player in the NBA. I was actually in attendance for this game, and it was an incredible sight to behold of Joel Embiid actually playing tough with this Cavaliers team. This block was one of many more to come this season for Jo-Jo.

Sixers/Rockets Primetime Game

This particular game was built up for weeks by the national media and is infamous for the game that almost brought the debut of Ben Simmons to Philadelphia. Unfortunately, Simmons was still on the DL and Joel Embiid was roughed up with a knee injury, but the Sixers still decided to play Embiid anyway. Jo-J0 set the tone of the game early with a one-handed slam in the first 10 seconds of the game, but James Harden put up 51 points to lead Houston to victory. This game was big for the Sixers because it put them on the primetime stage for the first time in their January run.

Dario Saric blocks the Raptors

Five words: Don't mess with Dario Saric. Saric didn't get a whole lot of starting minutes with the Sixers before the Nerlens Noel trade to Dallas and the Ersan Ilyasova trade to Atlanta. However, the Croat showed resilience even when he came off the bench for the team. Against the Raptors on January 18, Dario Saric had these two gigantic blocks to put the crowd into a frenzy. Just look at the energized Joel Embiid on the bench. This was just a shade of what was yet to come from the Homie for the rest of the season.

Oh, and by the way, let's just put this little Saric highlight in just for kicks:

Ouch.

Joel "The Process" "The Game" Embiid

This may not be on your list of Top 5 moments, but this particular moment is one of my personal favorites this season. I'm a pretty big WWE fan, but this was just one of those things that makes you smile that the Sixers have such a talent on and off the court like Joel Embiid. Embiid had an interaction with Paul "Triple H" Levesque from WWE just a day prior to this about Embiid getting his All-Star game endorsement to be sent to New Orleans. This is just one of those things that makes me love this kid more and more every time he steps onto the court.

T.J. McConnell buzzer beats the Knicks

Arguably the best moment of this season has to be the T.J. McConnell buzzer-beater over the Knicks in January. T.J.'s clutch shot mixed with the epic fist pump after running down the court is one that will live on in Wells Fargo Center lore for a mighty long time. The embrace of McConnell and Embiid is a visual image that is burned in our minds forever and further establishes the #TrustTheFriendship movement started between McConnell and Saric this past season.

T.J. proved his capabilities of being more than just a typical role player by providing the team with an abundance of leadership all season long, and enough charisma to provide each of his teammates with a long-lasting supply.
