3/26 IronPigs Roster Outlook

A few days ago, I posted an outlook for the IronPigs roster. A lot has changed since then. Kevin Frandsen left. Michael Stutes was released. We now know Buchanan will start out in the rotation in Lehigh Valley. Lots has changed.

The Rotation-
I still have it as Buchanan, Smith, O'Sullivan, Bootcheck, and Enright. With Enright still around, I don't see Jimenez being needed here. Pettibone will be on the DL to start the season for the Phillies, then get optioned down later. This team will eventually end up with Gonzalez, Martin, Pettibone, and maybe even Manship or Biddle spending some time in this rotation, but for now, I think they go with what's available, even if it's just to get by.

The Bullpen-
Presuming that Aumont gets optioned, which I predicted on my big league picks, he's here with Garcia and Horst as 40 man guys. Camp and Hollands end up here as well, as does Jimenez. I think Nesseth edges out Johnson for the last spot.

The Offense-
It looks to me like Cameron Rupp and Koyie Hill will be here as the catchers. They could consider Joseph or Valle here, but Joseph shouldn't split AB's with Rupp right now, both have some future here.

In the outfield, Gillies, Gwynn Jr., Castro, Suppelt, and Susdorf make sense to me. I'd still like to see Gwynn Jr. make it, but I have my doubts on that. They could be a half-decent outfield with any luck this year.

The infield is now a mess. Cedeno was outright released, as was Frandsen, so there are holes. First, I find it credible now that Maikel Franco could be playing here at third and first. I still think Ovebeck is here to play first and DH. Tolbert and Cartwright are now set, as is Blanco, most likely. I think Henson now makes this group too.

Until the Phillies start making a few more decisions, this is close to impossible to get exact. With what's in camp now, and what groups they've played in this Spring, this is the best bet I can think of.
