Starting Pitching Matchup:

Philadelphia Phillies (57-95) Miami Marlins (65-87)
RHP Alec Asher RHP Jarred Cosart
(0-4, 9.78 ERA) (2-4, 4.43 ERA)

Alec Asher is in search of a lot of things positive in his young major league career so far. First win, first quality start, and trim the ERA down some. Unlike his fellow rookie hurler, Jerad Eickhoff, Asher has so far appeared to be not quite ready for the big leagues. However, he'll get a few more looks and a chance to prove otherwise as the season winds down. His last start against Washington was one of his better outings so far where he pitched five innings, allowing four runs and four strike outs.

Facing him is former Phillies pitching prospect Jarred Cosart. Cosart hasn't been too bad this season but has been in Triple-A for a good bit down the stretch. He was among Miami's September call ups and is coming off a pretty nice start against Washington where he held the struggling NL East squad to two runs over six innings to notch his second win of the season.

Standard September line up for the Phillies tonight with Brian Bogusevic starting in right field against righty Cosart. Cody Asche has Cosart in his book and has taken him deep this season. Asche has racked up four long balls now at Marlins Park during his career and it's officially his best away park for a home run, which is interesting considering it's dimensions.
