Reported by Paul Hoynes  of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Cleveland Indians are set to unveil a statue of slugger Jim Thome on August 2nd at Progressive Field. As the case begins for Thome's Hall of Fame status, surely a statue is a great tribute to his legacy.  Since leaving the game, Thome has been working in the front office for the Chicago White Sox but he has not officially retired just yet. He's left a great mark wherever he has gone throughout his long career including his two stops in Philadelphia. The time to honor the mark he left on the game appears to have arrived.
