Eagles Practice Update: Military Appreciation Day, Dallas Cowboys Banner and More

Today was the final practice open to fans for training camp, and it was also military appreciation day. Chip Kelly greeted service men and women at the start of practice, and the Eagles wore camp uniforms as a sign of their appreciation.

The event, not surprisingly, was well attended by Eagles fans, with the Inquirer's Jeff McLane estimating that approximately 30,000 people showed up to watch practice. Que the "we talkin' bout practice, man" quotes.

We will bring you a practice recap later, but the other noteworthy event so far was the Dallas Cowboy's new woman beater, err, I mean player, Greg Hardy, flew a banner over the Eagles practice.

The plane flew over while the national anthem was playing. Classy move, Cowboys.

This is probably a good time to remind people that Greg Hardy was once convicted on two counts of domestic assault. The only reason he did not face significant jail time was he paid off the victim reached an out of court settlement with the victim and she refused to testify against him in the subsequent trial. The NFL initially suspended Hardy 10 games for his role in the incident, in which he threw his then girlfriend onto a couch with loaded guns, choked her, and told her he was going to kill her

However, the suspension was reduced to four games, the same punishment Tom Brady received in #DeflateGate, because in the NFL beating and threatening to kill your girlfriend is apparently as serious as deflating footballs.

I guess Hardy has so much free time on his hands that he was able to help chip in for this banner. Enjoy that time on the sidelines, Gregory.

Of course, the Eagles fans did not take it lightly, as they immediately broke out into a Cowboys Suck chant.
