With less than two weeks until the non-waiver trade deadline, the coveted Cole Hamels looks to continue the Phillies' strong start to the second half.

As the first series of the second half concludes, the Phillies find themselves in some unfamiliar territory as they look to sweep the struggling Miami Marlins, who aren't all that much better in the absence of Giancarlo Stanton.
Dan Haren has had a very nice season in Miami and has himself become the subject of trade rumors as the Marlins continue to rack up losses. Haren's last start of the first half was against the Reds where he pitched six innings of one run ball, striking out three. He's become quite the innings eater for the Marlins and should definitely be able to find a home on a contender as the deadline nears.
Cole Hamels' name appears a few times a day in a national scribe's trade rumors column it seems. While he's had a fairly good season himself, he's coming off one of the worst starts of his career in San Francisco before the break where he was tagged for nine runs in 3.1 innings. Plenty of scouts should be in the stands this afternoon to see if he rights the ship and for all we know, this could be it for the 2008 World Series MVP in red pinstripes.
