Aside from the homecoming of the pride of Millville, Mike Trout, plenty of other names with local ties are back in town. Angels manager Mike Scioscia is from Upper Darby. Raul Ibanez did a recent tour of duty with the home club and John McDonald who spent some time with the Phillies last season and recorded his first career strikeout is also on the roster and starting at shortstop tonight.

But all eyes are on Mike Trout who has made a bigger impact than anyone in the game during his brief career so far with a career 23.5 WAR in two full time seasons. But it's all not roses for Trout right now as he finds himself in a 5-38 slump in May so far. The home cooking might help but he also has to face Cliff Lee who himself is coming off a tough start last time out in Toronto.

The Phillies face Matt Shoemaker tonight who is making his first major league start of the season after posting a 6.31 ERA in Triple-A Salt Rock so far this season (careful reading into that for the PCL tends to be a nightmare for pitchers).

The Phillies sent out the standard lineup tonight and look to rebound from a tough loss against New York on Sunday. Johnathan Papelbon is ready and able to pitch tonight and Cesar Hernandez is up with the big club replacing the cast away Jayson Nix. Hernandez has hit .410/.489/.667 for Double-A Reading over the past ten games so it's safe to say he's earned his way back into the mix.
