Murray leaves practice with hamstring injury

Another key off season acquisition for the Eagles has suffered an injury.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Bob Brookover, DeMarco Murray left Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury.

The extent of the injury has yet to be determined, but fellow running back Ryan Mathews expects Murray to be back for Thursday's practice.

The Eagles' offense has been able to avoid major injuries thus far. Defensively, the team will miss Cedric Thorton and could be without the services of Kiko Alonso and Mychal Kendricks for Sunday's match up against the Jets.

Murray has been unable to find running room behind a suspect offensive line. Through two games, the 27-year-old has rushed for just 11 yards on 21 carries, which ranks 69th among qualifying running backs. Against the Cowboys last Sunday, Murray managed to gain just two yards on 13 carries in an embarrassing loss to his former team.

If Murray were to miss time, Mathews would assume duties as the team's primary rusher. “He'll be back. But it's nothing new," Mathews told CSNPhilly's Reuben Frank Wednesday. "I just have to go in there [if I start] and do what I can to help the team win."
