Just because the Phillies were rained out this afternoon doesn't mean the hot stove can't flare up a bit. William Ladson from MLB.com was first with the scoop that the Phillies acquired veteran catcher Koyie Hill from the Nationals for cash or a player to be named.

This move comes days after the Phillies opted to cut ties with Lou Marson which leaves me to wonder if there is another move in the works, much like there was when we read Will Nieves was coming to town.

Needless to say, the 35 year old Hill is a career.206/.266/.287 hitter over ten seasons with the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Nationals and Marlins. Hill was behind the dish on the last game of the '13 season for Miami and caught Henderson Alvarez's no-hitter.
