The Phillies completed the sweep of the Braves with a rousing 10-5 win this afternoon.

Thee Game: After a brutal first inning where Roberto Hernandez not only gave back the two runs the Phillies got off of Aaron Harang but gave up two more, he settled down and got through six frames giving up only one run through the next five.

The Phillies feasted off Harang through five innings with thirteen hits and nine runs. Cesar Hernandez did a fine job setting the table at the top of the order this afternoon while  the rest of the line up (well not Hernandez) put together good at bats. John Mayberry had a big RBI day, driving in three, as did Ryan Howard with a pair of his own.

Marlon Byrd would add a blast of his own in the 8th. Wil Nieves left with an injury in the top of the 9th after having a fairly productive day at the plate himself going three for six with two runs scored.

Notable Offensive Statistics:

Ryan Howard: 3-5, R, 2 RBI, 2B

Marlon Byrd: 3-5, 2 R, 3 RBI

Chase Utley: 2-6, 2 R, RBI

Impact: Much credit goes to  Howard who had a great series hitting .385 with six RBIs. The team now heads to his hometown of St. Louis where he is a .368 hitter for his career with nine home runs and thirty five RBIs. The bullpen had a fantastic afternoon with Antonio Bastardo continuing his hot streak in the 7th. Ken Giles would pitch both the 8th and 9th getting his first serious dose of big league work and kept the Braves of the boards with his fastball and slider.

Up Next: The Phillies travel to St. Louis to face the Cardinals tomorrow night in game one of a four game series. David Buchanan (203, 5.97) takes on Shelby Miller (7-5, 3.42) from Busch Stadium at 8:15.
