The skid continues for the Phillies after losing their third straigh.

After getting an extended break from the rotation, Roberto Hernandez pitched very effectively through 6.1 innings, allowing two runs and scattering seven hits. Clayton Kershaw pitched six shut out frames allowing just two hits but got into some trouble in two innings only to leave the runners on base.

Offensively, the Phillies would certianly create opportunities but left all of them on base. The most devastating being a bases loaded, nobody out jam against Brandon League in the 7th only for J.P. Howell to come in and put out the fire. The lack of big hits has been disturbing enough but it is hard to look worse than tonight at the plate.

Phillies look to get back on track vs. Dan Haren tomorrow at 3:05. David Buchanan makes his MLB debut.
