Philadelphia, PA –   It's not every day where you can tag Zack Greinke after being down 3-0 in the first inning. Unfortunately, there was much more to follow.

David Buchanan was off from the jump. He got two quick outs in the first before the next five batters reached base. Andre Ethier would start the scoring with an RBI double and Carl Crawford would then drive in a pair. Three runs seemed like plenty for Greinke. Then came the bottom of the first.

Greinke was way off in the first. Cesar Hernandez and Odubel Herrera both singled to start it off. After Maikel Franco drew a walk, Ryan Howard drove in two. Following that at bat, Domonic Brown would hit a three run home run to make it a 5-3 game. The Phillies had gotten to one of the best pitchers in the game and all was well. Then came the top of the second.

It wasn't meant to last as Buchanan had enough rough inning and let up another three runs off the bad of Adrian Gonzalez. To add to the pounding Greinke homered himself in the third as part of a three hit day himself. The Phillies would get one back in the third to close it up but Justin De Fratus would struggle in his outing and allow three runs in the 6th to put things out of reach as Greinke would settle down.

Dalier Hinojosa drew mop up duty and pitched very well over three innings striking out five. Joel Peralta would make things interesting and pitch himself into a save situation. allowing two hits before leaving with an injury. Kenley Jansen would come in and allow a two run double off Maikel Franco and a single off Howard. Looking for the game winning home run in a great afternoon at the plate, Brown lined into the glove of Adrian Gonzalez for the unassisted double play to end the ballgame.

Losses are losses but the past two games featured the same team we've been watching this second half. They battled and stayed in it. On the negative, it was a very poor outing from Buchanan and De Fratus when they really needed some clutch pitching.

The Phillies fly back out west tomorrow for a three game series with San Diego. First pitch is at 10:10 and we get Aaron Nola vs. James Shields.
