Final: Phillies 10, Rockies 3  ❖  Attendance: 32,113

DENVER— The Phillies headed back to Coors Field to finish a four-game series against the Rockies. After a back and forth series that saw the Rockies win the first and the third game of the series, the Phillies looked to win the final game, split the series and head into the all-star break with the momentum.

The Phillies came into Sunday's matchup having won nine of their last twelve ball-games, and improving their record to 41-48 on the year.

Zach Eflin took the hill for the Phillies, who came off of a quality start vs. the Braves on July 5. Eflin pitched six strong innings and protected the Phillies' 4-1 lead nicely.

The Phillies lit up the scoreboard in the seventh and eighth innings off of two giant home runs, both the longest of the season for the team, according to Statcast.

Except for a home run by Carlos Gonzalez for the Rockies in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Phillies held on to a 10-3 lead and took the last game of the series in Colorado.

The Phillies improve to 42-48 on the year, and win the final game of the first half of the regular season. They'll return to action this Friday night after the All-Star Break to face the Mets in a three-game division series at Citizens Bank Park.

The scoring started in the bottom of second inning when Rockies pitcher Tyler Chatwood singled a soft line drive to Tyler Goeddel in right field which scored Brandon Barnes. The Rockies took an early 1-0 lead.

The Phillies' hitters finally got to Chatwood in the top of the third inning, when Cody Asche hit a two-out line drive single to right field, scoring both Freddy Galvis and Maikel Franco, giving the Phillies a 2-1 lead.

The inning continued, however, as the Phillies kept the runs flowing with a sharp ground-ball single by Cameron Rupp, driving in Tommy Joseph to take a 3-1 lead.

Zach Eflin had a stellar fourth inning for the Phillies, making sure the Rockies didn't get any closer to the two-run lead.

Cameron Rupp continued his third inning success in the top of the fifth inning, as he got his second RBI of the game, driving in Maikel Franco on a ground-ball single to give the Phillies a 4-1 lead.

The Rockies were able to figure out Eflin and tack on a run in the bottom of the sixth inning with a two-out double by Nick Hundley to score Trevor Story. The Phillies still led the game 4-2.

In the top of the seventh inning, facing the Rockies lefty Jake McGee, Cameron Rupp stepped up to the plate already 3-for-3 on the day with two RBIs. Rupp delivered a deep fly ball to center field, that turned out to be a two-run home run, and scored Cody Asche. The Phillies took a commanding 6-2 lead.

Jason Motte came into pitch for the Rockies in the top of the sixth, but the Phillies couldn't stop the scoring fever. Freddy Galvis hit a line drive single to score Andres Blanco and give the Phillies a 7-2 advantage.

On the very next play, Maikel Franco hit a towering 471-foot home run blast, a three-run shot to break the game wide open. Phillies took a 10-2 lead.

Even though trailing by eight runs, the Rockies Carlos Gonzalez hit a towering home run of his own, which brought the lead to a 10-3 Phillies lead.

Edubray Ramos came into the game for the Phillies in the bottom of the ninth and shut the door to give the Phillies a 10-3 win at Coors Field. The Phillies and the Rockies split the four-game series, two games a-piece.
